Ingredients:

  • Chilli
  • Oil

For Stuffing:

  • Gram Flour (Besan)
  • Spices:
    • Salt
    • Red chilli powder
    • Turmeric powder
    • Coriander powder
    • Garam Masala
    • Asafoetida (Hing)
  • Sugar

For Batter:

  • Gram Flour (Besan)
  • Spices:
    • Salt
    • Red chilli powder
    • Turmeric powder
    • Coriander powder
    • Garam Masala
    • Asafoetida (Hing)
  • Water
  • Carom seeds (Ajwain)

Recipe:

1. Take chilli and cut each chilli from the middle and remove the seeds inside it. (Don’t cut the chilli fully as you will not be able to fill the stuffing inside it)

2. Take gram flour according to the chilli you have taken. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala and sugar. Mix well.

3. After mixing well, add 1-2 tablespoons of oil to moisturize the flour. (Don’t add more oil)

4. Mix oil properly till the flour start getting shape as shown below.

5. Lastly add coriander leaves and mix well.

6. Fill the stuffing inside the chilli properly and see to it that you don’t break the chilli otherwise the stuffing will get loosen and will come out while frying.

7. Fill the stuffing in all the chillies and keep it aside. Take a bowl and add gram flour to it. Also add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, a pinch of hing and carom seeds (ajwain).

8. Slowly add water and make a liquid batter by maintaining its consistency. (Don’t make the batter too liquid)

9. Add all the filled chillies inside the batter. Make sure you do it slowly and don’t break the chillies.

10. Take oil in a pan and heat it on a medium flame. Keeping it on a medium flame, add the chillies one by one and deep fry them till they turn golden brown. Flip the chillies in between.

Finally, your tasty dish is ready. Serve it with ketchup or green chutney or Mithi chutney.
