This is a tasty and easy-to-make healthy recipe. It includes all the vegetables and hence is healthy. This veg lollipop or veg balls are loved by children as well as the grow-ups. It is a tasty snack which is liked by all.

Make these yummy lollipops with all the veggies available with you and make it healthier. It mainly requires potato and breadcrumbs or powder of toast which are available easily. It can be deep fried as well as less oily as preferred by you.

Tips to make veg lollipop:

  • Don’t cook the veggies in the cooker for a longer time otherwise, you will get a mushy mixture which will break your prepared balls while frying.
  • If you don’t prefer deeply fried recipes, you can easily keep the ready balls inside the appam maker or dal-bati maker with less oil and wait till they turn golden brown.
  • I have here made it medium spicy, you can take the spices are per the taste required.
  • If you want to make jain vegetable balls or lollipops, you can simply replace the potatoes with raw bananas (kacha kela).

Ingredients:

  • Vegetables:
    • Carrot
    • Capsicum
    • Potatoes
    • Green peas
    • Maize
    • Chopped onions
    • Coriander leaves
  • Spices:
    • Red chilli powder
    • Coriander powder
    • Turmeric powder
    • Salt
    • Garam masala
    • Aamchur powder
    • Black pepper powder
    • Chat masala
  • Bread crumbs or powdered toast
  • Water for boiling
  • Oil for frying

Recipe:

1. Firstly get all the veggies ready. I have here taken chopped carrot, capsicum, potatoes, green peas and maize.

2. Transfer the veggies into a pressure cooker. Add water, half tablespoon salt and cook for 1 or 2 whistles.

3. After the cooker cools down, open it and removes the excess water.

4. Properly mash all the cooked vegetables. Mash properly, if you leave wholes vegges behind it may not taste good wile eating.

5. Now add chopped onions and chopped coriander leaves and mix well.

6. Now add all the spices: red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, aamchur powder and 1-2 tables spoon bread crumbs (powdered toast).

7. Mix everything well and taste it once. Lastly add salt as per you required taste.

8. Make the balls of the required size from the dough. If you find your dough mushy or sticky, you can add wheat flour or corn flour to thicken it.

9. In a bowl, take 3-4 tablespoons of corn flour. Add black pepper powder, chat masala and water to make a liquid paste.

10. Once you are ready with the paste, dip the prepared balls inside the paste.

11. And after dipping the balls in corn-flour paste, immediately roll them in the bread crumbs or powdered toast. (Make sure you roll them well as this makes your balls crispy)

12. Get all the veg balls ready.

13. In a pan take oil on a medium flame. Add the balls one by one and let them turn golden brown, remove and keep aside. You can even skip this step and fry the balls inside a dalbati maker if you prefer less oily food.

Finally serve these yummy veg lollipop with ketchup or green chutney.
