Prepare fresh coconut chutney at home with a few ingredients. This chutney is served with idli, dosa, vada as well as uttapam. Prepare this chutney in just 10-20 minutes and serve fresh.
This recipe is mainly made up of coconut, salt, green chilli and urad dal. This fresh chutney tastes awesome when served and is almost liked by everyone.
Tips to prepare coconut chutney:
- If you are using frozen coconut, let it cool down at room temperature or boil the water and keep the coconut inside it for some time so that it loosens.
- While preparing chutney don’t add more water otherwise your chutney will turn watery.
- You can even try out this recipe without adding urad dal.

Dosa Chutney Recipe:
- Take coconut pieces in a mixture bowl.
- Make a paste of coconut and then add chillies to it.
- Also, add half a cup of water or as per the requirement to maintain consistency.
- Transfer the paste to a bowl and add 1 tablespoon salt.
- Now prepare to temper by taking 2 tablespoons of oil and adding mustard seeds and urad dal. Let this splutter. You can also add curry leaves.
- As dal splutters, pour it over the chutney and mix everything well.
Dosa chutney Recipe with images:
1. Take coconut pieces in a mixture bowl.
2. Make a paste of coconut and then add chillies to it.
3. Also add half a cup of water or as per the requirement to maintain consistency.
4. Transfer the paste to a bowl and add 1 tablespoon salt.
5. Now prepare a tempering by taking 2 tablespoons of oil and adding mustard seeds and urad dal. Let this splutter. You can also add curry leaves.
6. As dal splutters, pour it over the chutney and mix everything well.
Finally server with idli, dosa, vada or uttapam.
